Slack connect prompts clear once your account is linked
Chief now recognises your own Slack connection, so the prompts asking you to connect stop appearing and the tools menu confirms you are set up.
If you had already connected your Slack account, Chief kept asking you to do it again. The prompt above the message box and the Slack card in the tools menu both nudged you to connect, and they stayed there no matter how many times you did.

Chief could only tell whether your workspace had Slack set up, not whether you personally had linked your account. Now it checks your own connection. Once you have connected, the prompt above the message box goes away and stays away.

Open the "+" menu and the Slack card reflects where you actually stand. If your workspace has no Slack yet, it points to setup. If the workspace is ready but your account is not linked, it offers the connect button. Once you are connected, it confirms Chief can search Slack and read channels on your behalf.
Reconnect button
A connected account can still stop working, for example if you revoke access in Slack. The connected card keeps a quiet Reconnect button so you can relink without hunting through settings.
If you connected Slack a while ago and have been dismissing the same prompt since, it should be gone the next time you open Chief.
