Connect Slack as a source from the prompt bar
Slack now shows up while you're setting up a prompt, so you can grant search access to your own account without hunting through a hidden menu.
Slack search was available, but you had to know where to find it. The connect step sat behind a hidden menu, and the prompt to grant access could slip down the timeline while you were reading an answer.
Slack card in the prompt tools flyout
Open the + menu and pick Tools, and you'll see a Slack card there every time, even on a project that has never touched Slack. If your organization's Slack is already set up for the project, the card offers to connect your own account so Chief can search messages and read channels as you. If it isn't set up yet and you're an organization owner, the card links you to the integrations page. Everyone else sees a note explaining who can do it.
Banner below the prompt bar
When Slack is available for the project, a banner sits above the prompt bar inviting you to connect. Click Connect to run the grant, or Dismiss to clear it. Dismissing sticks per project, so turning it off in one project leaves it in place elsewhere, and finishing the connection clears it wherever you started from.
Pinned action required card
When Chief needs your Slack grant partway through a search, the connect card now appears in the pinned Action required section at the top of the message, next to the bell and count badge, the same place email drafts land. It no longer sinks into the activity timeline where you could scroll past it.
If your team keeps decisions in Slack, connect once from any of these three spots and Chief can search it on your behalf from then on.
