Restart a live session and keep its title and brief

An upcoming live session can start on its own when unrelated audio plays nearby. Until now the only way to reset it was to delete the session, which also threw away the title and the context you had set up.

Restart in the session menu

Open a session that has started and you will see Restart in the overflow menu next to Rename. Choosing it opens a confirmation that spells out what goes and what stays before anything changes.

What the restart keeps

Chief clears the transcript, the summary, screenshots, action items, chats, and the rest of the content captured during the accidental start, then moves the meeting back to Scheduled so you can start it again.

The title, the brief, the language, and the Notion, Calendar, and meeting links all survive. Any public link on a cleared screenshot stops working, so nothing minted during the accidental start outlives the content.

Capture still running on a device

If a Chief device is still capturing, the restart stops and tells you to stop capture in Chief first. Stop it there, then restart from the web and the cleared content stays cleared.

Open any started session and the option is there in the menu. You get a clean slate for the real recording without rebuilding the setup around it.
