Name your account, organization and projects in any script
Names written in Japanese, Cyrillic, Chinese and other non-Latin scripts now get the full character budget everywhere in Chief, instead of being refused as too long.
If you have ever tried to set your name in Japanese or rename your organization in Cyrillic, Chief may have told you the name was too long when it plainly was not. Names in non-Latin scripts were being measured in a way that gave them a fraction of the stated limit.
Account and organization names
You can now set your name and your organization name to up to 128 characters, whatever script you write them in. A 50-character Japanese name used to come back with "Your name must be 128 characters or fewer"; it saves.
Public API project names
The public API accepts project names up to 128 characters on both create and rename, matching the published schema. If a name really is too long, the error tells you the character count rather than a number in a different unit.
Notion and Drive folder names
A Notion sync used to fail on a folder with a long non-Latin name, and everything the sync had not yet reached never arrived. Long names are now trimmed at a character boundary, so the sync creates the label and keeps going through the rest of your pages.
Rename your account, your organization or a project in the script you actually use, and reconnect Notion if a sync stalled on a folder name.
