Live Session app v1.1.53: Page back through cards above the prompt bar
Intelligence cards above the prompt bar keep a history you can page back through with arrows, dots or the arrow keys; you can rate any card in Activity with thumbs up or down; every Activity item gets a Copy link that opens right on it; and audio from your mic now tells speakers apart. Searches that find nothing no longer leave a card behind in Activity.
Cards Chief popped above the prompt bar during a call replaced each other as they arrived, so a card you glanced away from was gone until you went looking in Activity.
Today, we're adding paging through intelligence cards, along with thumbs up and down on cards, links to any Activity item, and speaker identification for audio from your mic.
Paging through intelligence cards
Once more than one card has shown during a session, the card above the prompt bar gets arrows on both edges and dots underneath. Click an arrow, click a dot to jump straight to that card, or press the left and right arrow keys while the card has focus. Chief keeps the newest 30 cards of the session.
While you read an earlier card, nothing replaces it and it does not fold away. A card that arrives meanwhile lights its dot until you reach it. Past eight cards, the dots slide along with you and a count such as "9 of 12" appears at the top of the card.
An earlier card offers only Show in Activity, which opens the card there. Dismiss and the main action stay on the newest card.
Activity now names the section and filter it used to call Insights Intelligence cards.
Card thumbs up and down
Each intelligence card in Activity has a thumbs up (Helpful) and a thumbs down (Not helpful). Click a thumb to vote, click it again to clear the vote, or click the other one to switch. Your votes come back when you reopen the session.
A card you vote down folds to its title and the thumbs-down, so it stops taking space, and you cannot open it while it stays folded. Click the thumbs-down again to restore it.
Anyone on the call can vote, including guests who joined with a Collaborate link and project Readers. People watching through a Watch link see no thumbs. Thumbs do not appear yet on the card above the prompt bar or on cards inside the transcript.
Links to any Activity item
Every item in Activity, whether an insight, finding, offer, ask or chat, has a ⋯ menu with Copy, Download and Copy link. Opening the link in Chief brings up the item in Activity, highlighted, and for an ended session also opens the transcript at the moment the item came from. On the web, the session page lists the item and highlights it too.
Open in Chief app on the web used to land you on the Join page, including when the link started Chief on Windows. It now opens the session.
A copied link opens only for members of the session. It is never a public link.
Speakers in mic audio
Audio captured by your microphone used to read as You throughout, even when several people shared a table or you recorded an interview on one laptop. Chief now tells those voices apart and labels them Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, which you can name as you do for people on the far end. A line Chief cannot place reads as Unknown speaker.
Fixes
- A question Chief could not answer during a call left a card such as "Couldn't find an answer" in Activity. Chief now removes its "Looking this up" card when the search ends empty, and older sessions open without those cards.
