Live Session app v1.1.29: Pick the project before you upload a transcript

Uploading a transcript now goes to a project you choose, with progress you can follow and a way straight into the result. This build also brings one-click MCP setup for your coding tools, Expert Voices in session chat, a single Activity view, and a call-ended card with auto-pause on Windows.

Uploading a transcript used to feel like handing a file to a stranger. You could not say which project it landed in, the header named a different one each run, and the strip showed the same line for the whole run so the app looked stuck.

Transcript uploads with a destination

You now pick the project before the upload starts, and the session lands exactly there. The header names that project while the work runs, and it keeps naming it in the finished message even if something else moves on in the meantime.

The progress strip tells you which part it is on. You see how much of the transcript has been read, and then it says it is building your summary, which is the part that takes the longest. When the import finishes you get a button that opens the result, and the session appears in your history right away.

If the upload fails, the session you had open before comes back rather than leaving you with a blank header, and the error stays on screen until you dismiss it.

Coding tools connected in one click

Connecting a coding tool to Chief meant running a command by hand and pasting a token you copied out of the web app. Open Settings, find your tool in the list and click Connect: Chief writes the entry into that tool's own config for you. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Augment, Cline, Copilot CLI, Droid, Junie, Kimi, Kiro, OpenHands, Qwen Code, OpenCode, code-assistant, Stakpak, siGit and Mistral Vibe get written directly, and every other agent in the list gives you a snippet to paste.

The token never appears in the window. Settings shows a placeholder, and copying puts the real value on your clipboard. If a token has been revoked, Chief mints a fresh one before the next write, and Regenerate token rotates it whenever you want.

Expert Voices and Activity in one view

Changing the voice Chief writes in used to mean leaving your session for the web app. You now choose an Expert Voice from the chat composer inside the session, from the voices your project has switched on.

Activity is one list now, reading the same whether a call is recording or you reopened it days later. Chats, asks, findings and offers sit together, each row opens its own detail, and the kind filters double as a way to open that kind as its own panel. On a finished call, an open offer says that Chief takes these during the call and that you can still hand it to an agent, so the missing button reads as intent.

Session menus in the sidebar and the session header carry Open in Chief, which opens that session's web page in your browser.

Windows terminal and call-ended card

Continue in terminal and start in terminal work on Windows. Chief opens the conversation in Windows Terminal, or a PowerShell console when that is missing, and prompts carrying quotes or curly apostrophes go through intact.

When a Zoom call ends on Windows, your live session pauses and a card offers Resume or Stop live session. Leave it alone and it hides after a moment with the session still paused, so nothing gets recorded past the call and nothing gets dropped.

Fixes

Asking a question in a live session you joined through a watch link used to crash Chief. The request is refused with an error now.

Typing a question into a summary point in a reopened session threw the question away while that point's earlier replies were still loading. The composer waits until the chat is ready.

On a development build, the Chief logo in the header opened the production web app, and the pairing screen told you to fetch a code from an address that could never resolve against your build. Both now point at the web app your build talks to.

The artifact access menu said things like "Project can edit", which read as changing the whole project. It now names the canvas or document it controls and says project members can view, comment or edit.

Chief's offers used to lean on opening a chat about whatever the room was chewing on. They now favor a bug you just hit, something you settled or work handed to a named person, and they land in a connected system when the work has a home there.

Install this build to get uploads that go where you send them and coding tools connected without a command line.
