Live Session app v1.1.28: Type to find a project when a meeting starts
The meeting card's project picker now has a search field with keyboard navigation, panel toolbars collapse their controls into a menu instead of clipping them, and right-click brings back cut, copy, paste, and select all in text fields.
Chief's meeting card appears the moment you join a call, and until now picking a project there meant scrolling a long menu with no way to type past it. Narrow panels had a related problem: controls overlapped, the one at the right edge was sliced in half, and about nine more were nowhere to be found.
Project search on the meeting card
Click the project control on the meeting card and you get a search field with the list below it. Type any part of a project name to filter it, move the highlight with the arrow keys, press Return to choose, and press Escape to close. A footer tells you how many of your projects match what you typed.
The card no longer times out while you read. The countdown that dismisses an untouched card stays suspended for as long as the picker is open, so a long list will not vanish out from under you mid-pick.
Chief carries the project you chose by its identity rather than its position in the list, so two projects sharing a display name start the session in the one you clicked.
Panel toolbars at any width
Every panel header now measures itself and moves whatever does not fit into a More menu, so nothing is ever clipped or overlapped. Drag a panel narrow and the controls disappear into the menu in a set order: the zoom control goes first, and the canvas name becomes a Rename canvas row. Widen it again and they come back out.
A rename in progress holds its field on the bar whatever the width, so typing a name does not get interrupted.
Canvas naming and icons
Double-click a canvas or document tab to rename it right there on the tab title. Dragging the tab stays off while the field is open, so a click inside the name no longer tears the panel out of its group.
The control that creates a canvas is now labelled Canvas rather than Sketch, and canvases carry a squiggle mark everywhere they appear instead of a frame glyph that read like a hashtag. Add to session on the canvas and document panels is now the same blue button you see in the screenshot annotate dialog.
Fixes
Right-clicking a text field gave you no working paste, so editing meant falling back to the keyboard. Right-click now offers cut, copy, paste, and select all in Chief's text fields on macOS and Windows. Right-clicking an external link still opens nothing, which keeps the webview from navigating away and dropping your session.
The project list on the meeting card used to clip its last row. Chief now sizes the list to the rows it actually holds, and the list scrolls once it passes eight projects.
Install this build to get the searchable picker and the right-click menu back.
