Live Session app v1.1.27: Zoom the canvas without a trackpad gesture
Chief 1.1.27 adds visible zoom buttons to the canvas toolbar, and fixes links that signed you out, a meeting card that stayed on screen after a session started, and shared documents that stopped filling in mid-edit.
Zooming a canvas in Chief meant knowing a ctrl-wheel or pinch gesture, and nothing on screen told you zoom was even possible. This build puts the control in the toolbar and clears out a handful of things that got in your way elsewhere.
Canvas zoom buttons
The canvas toolbar now has a minus and a plus button beside the zoom percentage. Click either one to step the canvas in or out, no trackpad or keyboard shortcut needed.
The steps land on round numbers, so if a pinch left you at 137%, pressing minus takes you back to 125% and then to 100% exactly. When you reach the closest or furthest zoom, the matching button dims.
Activity panel
The Activity panel has two tabs, and both looked identical, so you could not tell which one you were reading. The open tab now carries an accent bar underneath it, whether or not the panel holds focus.
The empty state below the tabs was two paragraphs of explanation. You now get one centered line: Chief will suggest tasks based on your conversation.
Fixes
Clicking a jump-to-timestamp link in a session answer used to reload the whole app and drop you on a sign-in screen. Answer links now open in your default browser, and Chief keeps your place and your signed-in session.
A proposed email, calendar or Drive action from a teammate showed you an Approve button that refused the click, because those actions run in the proposer's own account. Chief now hides Approve on an action only its proposer can accept.
The "want to start a live session?" card lingered over your call for as long as twenty seconds after you had already started or joined. Starting or joining a session from anywhere, the app window, a join link or a deep link, takes the card down right away.
Reconnecting to a shared document or canvas could skip an edit, leaving text frozen while presence and other edits kept arriving. Chief now picks up every edit it missed before applying new ones, so the document fills in completely.
