Live Session app v1.1.26: Pick the project before a call starts recording
Chief 1.1.26 lets you choose the destination project right from the meeting prompt, adds a Reset Layout and a per-strip panel opener to the session dock, and fixes a handful of things that used to strand your work: participant summary edits reverting, a paused session looking live after a reload, and the wrong project showing in the pill after a call.
When Chief spots a Zoom call and offers to take notes, saying yes used to drop the session into whichever project was last used. Moving it afterwards was the only fix. This build puts the choice in front of you before the recording starts.
Project choice in the meeting prompt
The card that appears when Chief detects a call now carries a Project picker, set to the project you used last. Pick a different one, click Start live session, and the session opens there.
Opening the picker gives the card a fresh window before it dismisses itself, so a long project list is safe to browse. Two projects sharing a name land in the right one, because Chief matches on the project itself rather than its title. If your project list cannot load, the card shows no picker and you pick the project in the app as before.
Panels that stay where you put them
The transcript, the summary and the Activity list are the session, so you can no longer close them; their tabs draw no close button. Activity now takes a column of its own from the first launch instead of hiding behind the summary as a tab.
Every tab strip has its own "+" that opens a closed panel into that strip, rather than dropping it wherever the dock last placed a panel. Reset Layout throws away your arrangement and rebuilds the default one.
Dragging a panel now shows you what the drop will do before you release it: the panel you drag over shrinks to the space it will keep, under a marked drop area. The outer edge of the dock, where a drop makes a full-height column, is wider and easier to hit.
You can also drag a kind chip out of Summary or Activity, such as Findings, to open it as a panel of its own. The panel it came from keeps all its chips.
More agent suggestions instead of new ones
The send-to-agent dialog used to offer only "Try again", which replaced the suggested list wholesale. That control is now "Start over", and a "More" button beside it keeps what you have and adds fresh suggestions. Chief steers away from repeating what it already offered, and drops a repeat if one slips through.
Chief also opens faster and paints its first screen with your projects and recent sessions already in it, rather than an empty frame followed by a repaint.
Fixes
Editing a summary item as a participant in someone else's session used to look like it worked and then revert to the host's wording. Your edit now reaches the session and sticks for everyone watching, including through a host handover.
Watching a live session and reloading the Chief window while the host was paused brought the session back showing as recording, with the clock running. The header now shows the pause.
After a live session you opened from an "Open in Chief" link ended, the idle pill named an older project rather than the one that just ran. It names the right one now.
Pairing a machine through the browser left you on the browser's "connected" page with Chief still in the background. Chief comes to the front once the pairing is confirmed.
Live document and canvas edits stopped flowing once you had more than one shared artifact open, while saves kept succeeding. Edits, canvas updates and collaborator selections now keep arriving with several documents open at once.
Install this build before your next call, and pick the project from the prompt instead of moving the session afterwards.
