Live Session app v1.1.25: Add screenshots and sketches from the transcript
The transcript panel now carries capture, images, sketch and paste-text controls in one row, and the chat composer grows to fit long prompts. This build also fixes tabs that stopped responding after a note, pasted links that would not open, and the session bar covering the upload controls.
Screenshot, upload and sketch have been in Chief for a while, tucked inside a dropdown on the floating session bar where you had no reason to look. This build puts them where you are already reading.
Capture, images and sketch in the transcript
The bottom of the transcript panel now shows a row of controls: Capture runs the screen capture, the Images well takes a drop or opens the picker, Sketch opens a blank canvas, and Paste text is still there. Drag the panel narrow and the labels collapse to icons, with the name on hover.
Uploading an image now opens the markup editor directly, so the separate "Upload & mark up" and "Screenshot & mark up" items are gone. If you had a key bound to either upload action, it still works and lands on the one upload flow.
When you mark up an image already in the transcript, the edited version used to land right under the original. It now appears at the end of the transcript, in order with everything else you have added.
Long prompts in the chat composer
The chat box used to stay at three rows, so a long or pasted prompt scrolled inside a small window and you could not read it back before sending. The box now grows with what you type, up to about 60% of the window height, then scrolls. It never grows over the floating session bar, and it re-fits itself when you resize the window.
Fixes
The summary panel controls could stop responding after a note was added to the session, leaving only the Chat tab clickable. Notes, Timeline and the To-dos, Decisions and Context filters stay usable now.
A URL you pasted into a live session stayed plain text and nobody could open it. Pasted links in the transcript and in the chat echo are now clickable and open in your default browser. Chief keeps punctuation and brackets from the surrounding sentence out of the link, so a URL in parentheses still opens correctly.
The floating session bar sat over the Images and Paste text controls, which made them look unavailable. The bar now rests above those controls while a session can take input, and it clears the paste-text field when you expand it. Drag the bar to a spot you like, then shrink and reopen the window: it returns to the spot you picked instead of creeping downward.
The end-of-meeting agent digest named your machine by its raw hostname, or left it blank. It now names the person on the device using their name from the session roster. Sources Chief could not resolve used to show up with an asset id twice over; they read "Untitled source" now.
The post-session Send to agent dialog gave every command-line agent past Claude Code and Codex the same terminal icon. Cursor, Goose, GitHub Copilot and the rest now show their own marks, so you can pick a row by looking at it.
Documents and canvases produced in a session now reach your project knowledge base on their own, so search and chat can use them without an export step.
