Connect your Slack account from Settings

A new Connected accounts page in Settings lets you link your own Slack account to Chief, so mentioning the bot in Slack works even when your Slack email doesn't match your Chief email.

Mentioning Chief in Slack used to depend on your Slack profile email matching your Chief email exactly. When it didn't, Chief replied that no account used that address and there was nothing you could do about it from your side.

Connected accounts page

Settings now has a Connected accounts page listing every Slack workspace attached to a project you can reach. Each row shows the workspace name and the organization it belongs to, with its own Connect button.

Linking your own Slack account

Click Connect and Slack asks you to authorize Chief. You come back to the same page, where the row shows a connected badge alongside your Slack handle and email so you can confirm you linked the right account.

After that, Chief recognizes you by the account you linked rather than by matching email addresses, so mentions run as you.

Disconnecting a workspace

Each connected row has a Disconnect button. Use it to unlink a workspace at any time, and the row returns to showing Connect.

If no Slack workspace is attached to your projects yet, the page tells you so, and your organization owner can set one up under Integrations.

Head to Settings, then Connected accounts, to link your Slack account.
