Connect a Linear workspace and ask about your issues
Chief can now read and write Linear issues, comments, projects, initiatives, and documents during a chat, and it indexes issues from the teams you pick so answers cite real ticket history.
You have been pasting issue links and ticket summaries into Chief by hand, or answering questions about work that only lives in Linear. Linear now joins Notion and Slack as an organization integration, so Chief can look at your issues directly and file new ones for you.
Workspace connection
Org owners connect one Linear workspace per organization from the Integrations page, then deploy it to the projects that should get it. The setup panel walks you through creating a private app in Linear, copying the client ID and secret, and pasting the webhook signing secret back into Chief so it can verify that changes really came from Linear.
Team and project selection
You choose which teams get indexed, and you can narrow a team down to specific Linear projects when you only want part of it. Issues that belong to a team but no project have their own toggle, so you decide whether they stay searchable. Before Chief removes anything from your search index, it tells you what falls outside the new selection and asks you to confirm.
Issue tools in a chat
Ask Chief to search issues, read one with its comment thread, list teams, users, projects, or initiatives, or open a Linear document, and you get a card in the conversation with the result. Chief can also create an issue, update title, description, assignee, state, priority, labels, or project, and add a comment. Each write shows you a confirmation card with the exact change first. If you would rather skip that step, turn on the Linear write approval in your auto-approve settings.
Issues in your knowledge base
Every indexed issue lands in the project corpus as one asset carrying its full comment thread, so answers drawn from your knowledge base can pull from ticket discussion. Changes in Linear flow through as they happen, and Chief reconciles the full picture daily so deleted issues and issues moved out of scope drop out.
Open your organization's Integrations page to connect Linear. If the credentials ever stop working, the connection card says so and points the org owner at the reconnect step.
