Spot a Notion or Google connection that needs reconnecting

Your integrations page now says "Reconnect required" when Notion or Google Workspace rejects saved access, and removals and deletions stop touching files they shouldn't.

You open the integrations page, see a green dot and "1 connected", and assume Notion is syncing. Until now that dot stayed green even after Notion or Google refused the access you saved, so syncing had stopped while the page told you everything was fine.

Reconnect required badge

The collapsed header for Notion and Google Workspace now shows "Reconnect required" with a warning icon when the provider rejects the saved access. GitHub and Linear already did this; all four read the same way now, so you can scan the page and see which connection needs your attention.

Deletions held back on broken access

A page deleted in Notion while the integration was switched off, or while its access had expired, used to remove that page's synced copy from your projects. Chief now ignores those deletions until you reconnect, so nothing disappears from your knowledge base on the strength of access Notion has already refused.

Drive cleanup on removal

Removing a Google Drive integration from a project used to leave files behind sometimes, still searchable, with nothing to clean them up later. Chief now retries the cleanup until the files the integration synced are gone.

Per-project Notion pages

A Notion page shared into two projects keeps a separate copy in each. Deleting the page in Notion removes only the copy in the project it belongs to, and @-mentioning the page cites the copy in the project you are working in, so the citation opens for you.

If a connection shows "Reconnect required", open that section on your integrations page and reconnect to resume syncing.
