Search your chats and scroll the library faster

Chat search returns results in a fraction of the time it used to, the asset library pages without the stall, and tool result cards no longer clutter the timeline with empty or oversized blocks.

Searching your chats used to mean waiting several seconds for a handful of results, and scrolling the asset library paused between pages. Chief now returns both quickly, and the chat timeline shows less filler around them.

Chat search now spends its effort on the results you actually see rather than on every message it considered along the way. Queries that took seconds come back in a fraction of that.

The @-mention picker inside the prompt bar waits until you have typed three characters before searching, the same minimum the search page already used. Typing one or two letters no longer fires a search across your whole history.

Asset library paging

Paging through a project's assets newest-first used to walk far more than your project's files before showing you a page. Scrolling the library now loads the next page without the pause, and sorting oldest-first behaves the same way.

Leaner tool result cards

A tool that found nothing still drew a full card with a "0 results" pill, and a failed step left a red row with nothing to read or act on. Both are now dropped from the timeline. A failure that has something to tell you keeps its message and its Try Again buttons, and a step you cancelled stays put.

Long bodies from Slack messages and GitHub, Linear and Notion comments and documents now show a short preview with a link to the real resource instead of the entire text. Gmail thread cards show Gmail's own snippet with an Open in Gmail link.

Steadier chats and syncs

Long chats with many tool calls used to push Chief hard enough to drop connections mid-turn. Those turns now hold steady, and your Google Drive syncs move through large folders with fewer stalls.

Open search, pick a chat, and scroll the library. The wait you were used to is gone.
