Re-add Google Drive without losing already-synced files

Removing Google Drive from a project and adding it back keeps the files the new connection has brought in, along with the chat citations and labels pointing at them.

If you have ever disconnected Google Drive from a project and then reconnected it, you may have watched files disappear shortly after they arrived.

Files kept on reconnect

Removing Drive from a project used to clear out every Drive file in that project, including the ones a fresh connection had already synced. Now the cleanup removes only the files the connection you removed had brought in, so anything the new connection has synced stays put.

Citations and labels that hold

When those files vanished, the next sync brought them back as new files, and chat citations and labels pointing at the originals broke. Your citations and labels now keep pointing at the same files through a disconnect and reconnect.

You can swap a project's Drive connection when you need to, and the files already in place stay where they are.
