Pick up where you left off after signing in
Sign-up and account connect detours now finish the thing you asked for, from a Google Drive connect started in a chat to an organization invitation opened from email.
You click something, get sent to sign up or to a consent screen, and come back to the home page with no memory of what you were doing. Several of those detours now complete on their own.
Google Drive connect after sign-up
Asking to connect Google Drive from a chat while signed out used to drop you on the home page once you finished signing up, and you had to find the card and click Connect again. Chief now picks the connect back up for you as soon as you land in the app. Signing in later to an account you already had leaves your Drive connection alone.
Google account connect completing
Connecting a Google account for Docs and Slides exports and the Google tools ended on an error page after you approved the consent screen, and retrying hit the same wall. The connect now finishes and your account stays connected.
Organization invitations after Google sign-up
Signing up with Google from an organization invitation sent you to the home page, and the invite only went through if you went back to your email and clicked the link a second time. You now land back on the invitation.
Uploads during sign-in
Dropping a file or opening a page from the left nav while Chief was still signing you in asked you to sign up, and the files were discarded. Chief now waits until it knows who you are, so a registered account gets the upload instead of a sign-up prompt.
Live-session links when signed out
Opening a live-session link in a signed-out browser left you stuck on a loading screen with only Retry and Reload. You now reach the sign-in page and can carry on to the session.
If one of these detours sent you back to square one before, try the same path again and it should land where you meant to go.
