Uploaded files keep their name and their status
Files you upload now show the name you gave them, report honestly when processing fails, carry their prompt suggestions between projects, and turn up in the Spreadsheets tab of the file picker.
You upload a file to Chief, and what happens next should match what you see in your knowledge library. Four things that could drift apart there now line up.
Uploaded file names
When Chief could not come up with a title for a spreadsheet, CSV, audio file or text document, the file landed in your library named "NONE". Your file now keeps the name you uploaded it with whenever no title can be generated.
Honest failure status
A file whose processing stopped partway used to appear as ready while sitting there with no summary, no content and nothing searchable behind it. Chief now marks that file as failed, so you can tell at a glance which uploads need another try. Anything the processing did produce before it stopped, a name or a summary, stays on the file.
A file that finished its content and only missed its automations or prompt suggestions still reads as ready, because the content is there.
Prompt suggestions after a move
Moving a file to another project used to strip its AI prompt suggestions: they vanished from the destination and kept being offered in the project the file had left. Suggestions generated from a file now travel with it.
Spreadsheets in the file picker
The Spreadsheets tab of the prompt bar's file picker showed only the spreadsheets that ordinary scrolling happened to reach, which in a large project meant close to none. The tab now lists your project's spreadsheets, up to the first 50, and loading it no longer clears the files a sent message lists as its sources.
Upload something and check your library: the name, the status and the suggestions should all be where you expect them.
