Copy a link to any Activity item that opens right on it
Activity items in a live session get a menu to copy, download or copy a members-only link to them, and the web Activity tab lists Insights, Findings, Offers and Asks. Extra files go to your Library, attached images open in a preview, and fixes cover chat scrolling, empty Activity cards and Open in Chief app.
Pointing a teammate at one insight or offer from a live session meant sending the whole session and telling them where to scroll.
Today, we're adding Copy link for Activity items, along with Library handling for files past the per-message limit, image previews in the prompt and in sent messages, and fixes to chat scrolling, Activity and the Open in Chief app button.
Links to any Activity item
Every item in a live session's Activity, whether an insight, finding, offer, ask or chat, has a ⋯ menu with Copy, Download and Copy link. Copy and Download give you the item's own text, and a card brings its question, its answer and its sources with it.
In the Chief app, a link opens the item in Activity and highlights it. For a session that has ended, it also opens the transcript at the moment the item came from.
On the web, the session page's Activity tab now lists Insights, Findings, Offers and Asks, and highlights the item a link points to.
A copied link opens the session page for members only. It is never a public link, so the person you send it to needs access to the session.
Sharing from Activity
- A teammate missed a key finding: copy its link and send it so they land on it.
- An offer belongs in a document: download the item and drop the file into your write-up.
- A colleague asks what someone promised: open the ended session's link and read the transcript at that moment.
Files past the per-message limit
Paste or drop more files than a message holds, and the extras go to your Library instead of disappearing. A notice says so, and your prompt can use those files once they finish processing.
Attached image previews
Click an attached image, before or after you send it, to open a preview where you can copy or download it. The Library button on an attachment now shows a tooltip saying what it does.
You can add images you already sent to your Library, and the tile turns to In Library once it is there.
Only the person who uploaded a sent image can add it to the Library, because a Library file is visible to the whole project.
Fixes
- A chat sometimes jumped back to the top while you were reading it. The chat now keeps your place.
- Questions Chief could not answer left "Couldn't find an answer" cards in Activity. Chief now takes the "Looking this up" card back when it finds nothing, in the app and on the web session page, including for older sessions.
- Open in Chief app landed on the Join page, including when the link started Chief on Windows. It now opens the session.
- A join link opened before you signed in did nothing after sign-in. Chief now joins the session right after you sign in.
