Open any tag as a live view of everything that carries it

Clicking a tag opens a view of every point, note, highlight, chat, document, canvas, finding and offer that carries it, which you can edit, keep as its own column, copy, ask Chief about or send to an AI agent. Documents, canvases, findings and offers can now take tags, Auto-apply Tags reach highlights and chats, the Notes tag strip filters by several tags at once, and share links show the tags on their content.

Tags in a session used to sit on individual items, and finding everything under one tag meant filtering the Notes view one tag at a time while highlights, chats and documents stayed out of reach.

Today, we're adding tag views, along with tags on more of your session, a multi-tag filter in Notes, Auto-apply Tags on highlights and chats, and tags on share links.

Tag views

Click a tag anywhere in a session and Chief opens a view of everything that carries it: points, notes, highlights, chats, documents, canvases, findings and offers. The view updates live as items gain the tag, marks new arrivals, and opens each row's source when you click it.

You can edit the view: add or remove tags, choose All of or Any of, and narrow it by kind, with only the kinds present in the session on offer. Each view can live in its own column, and it stays in your layout when you come back.

A view has Copy and Ask Chief, and Send to… hands off only the items the view shows. A send from a view leaves out the full transcript.

Working from a tag view

  • A topic spread across the call: open its tag and read every item about it in one column.
  • Two themes that overlap: add both tags, pick All of, and see only what carries both.
  • A follow-up for one workstream: send that tag's view to an AI agent without the whole transcript.
  • A quick recap for a colleague: copy the view and paste the tagged items wherever you write.

Tags on summary points

Each summary point shows its tags in one row of chips. Tags Chief added have a dashed outline, and you can keep or remove them; clicking a chip opens that tag's view.

The point's menu carries the point as its title and lists its tags and the tags you can add, favorites and recently used first. Search appears once there are more than six tags.

Multi-tag filter in Notes

The tag strip above Notes lists the session's tags, most used first, and you can select several at once to combine with All of or Any of. It shows how many notes match.

Open as column moves the filter into its own column while Notes returns to the whole document, and you can also drag a tag off the strip to open it as a column. The strip wraps in narrow columns.

Tags on more items

The host can retag a highlight from its menu or remove it with Remove highlight; taking the last tag off a highlight removes it. Documents, canvases, findings and offers can carry tags too, and tags on findings and offers show up on your other devices as you add them.

Auto-apply Tags on highlights

Chief now suggests tags for highlights and chats as well as summary points, and they appear dashed until you keep them.

A share link shows the tags on the page's content, and its tag filter now matches summary points.

A share link shows only the tags its content carries, never the rest of your project's tags.

Open a session, click any tag and drag its view into a column of its own. Documents and canvases in a Live Session covers the items you can now tag.
